Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B is a liver infection spread through blood and bodily fluids. Symptoms include jaundice, fatigue, and abdominal pain. Chronic infection can lead to liver disease, vaccination and safe practices effectively prevent transmission.

When to get vaccinated: To be able to complete the course you will need to get the first dose a month before travelling

Schedule: three doses (0,1,6 months)

Accelerated course: Accelerated course of vaccines can be considered if travelling soon (0, 7 days, 21 days, 12 months)

Boosters: Complete vaccination course will last up to 5 years, vaccination can be considered soon if at high risk or occupational risk.

Administration: injection in the upper arm

Side effects: fatigue and pain at injection site
